NY Sen. Klein & Assemblyman Crespo Support Lask's "Bad Ass" Case
At a February 24, 2015 press conference, Senator Klein introduced Susan Chana Lask as an "outstanding attorney" who he proudly supports for representing Bronx homeowners bilked millions from the "Bad Ass" builder group while the City turned a blind eye. For seven years the City has refused to hold Bad Ass responsible for abandoning the homeowners in illegal housing.

"I am honored that these homeowners and the Senator and Assemblyman sought my legal representation in this tragic case. I will not stop until they get justice.", says Susan Chana Lask. Ms. Lask's reputation for her historical suits against big frauds such as convincing the FDA to change the warnings in her Ambien case against big pharm and she shut down Foreclosure Mill Steven Baum led the homeowners to her.
The homeowners were collectively bilked by the Bad Ass builders who sold them illegal homes that the New York City Department of Buildings refuses to issue Certificates of Occupancy ("CO"). Every attorney they went to for help also bilked them for more money then did nothing. One attorney filed three frivolous cases in the Bronx Supreme Court after he collected about $20,000 from the homeowners to make them believe he did something for the money, then abandoned those cases. Ms. Lask's job is to try and correct those frivolous state cases and represent the homeowners in the Federal action she filed as Johanny DelaCruz, Vianey Gomez, Luis Nieves, Donna Morales, Martha Diaz, Franklin Mejia and Edison Vizcaino v. Rick D. Chandler, P.E. as Commissioner, NYC Dept. of Buildings, The City of NY, Bad Ass, Inc. et al., SDNY Case # 15cv1275.

The homeowners cannot sell or refinance their homes without COs and they live in unlivable conditions with roof leaks, black mold where the children have asthma now, improper insulation causing $400 a month heating bills causing them to freeze and get sick in the winters and other serious problems. Senator Klein and Assemblyman Crespo announced that they will support Ms. Lask and file amici briefs to support her represnetation of the homeowners.
